Origin Story

It all started with a promise Mamma Rosa had made to her husband. The promise? To get to America and give their children the opportunity to live the American dream.

It was in 1970 that Rosa and her 5 children would arrive in NYC and she'd get the chance to fulfil that promise. Even though it was difficult at first, Rosa wasn't one to give up. She worked hard, both at her various jobs and at raising her kids right.

Seeing how dedicated and responsible their mother was inspired the kids to follow in her footsteps. Soon enough, they all started working as well and the family started to thrive.

Being raised with such strong values and an appreciation for their Italian heritage, the children quickly realized they could put these things together and create something of their own. In 1986, an opportunity presented itself and the first Famous Famiglia Pizza was born.

Serving meals prepped using their original family recipes, Famous Famiglia Pizza quickly became an NYC favorite. Step by step, the children built their empire and managed to elevate the pizzeria to a whole new level.

Today, that singular NYC location is accompanied by a lot more throughout the US, as well as Famous Famiglia locations across Canada, China, Ecuador, Mexico, and the UAE.

We'd say the kids really are living the American dream, just as Mamma Rosa promised!
