Origin Story

The first Oggi's Pizza & Brewing Co restaurant was opened in 1991 by the two brothers George and John Hadjis.

The name comes from the word "Oggi" which means "Today" in Italian. The idea is that our business is about freshness and offering only high-quality dishes to our customers. This means that our dough, sauces, and all other ingredients are fresh and made from scratch every day.

When George and John started out, they had a lot of experience in the tech industry, and over the years, they evolved our pizzeria in a great way. For one, Oggi's Pizza became synonymous with sports events in the sense that we're an amazing place to watch any game with your friends. We even have partnerships with several sports organizations and our pizza is the official one of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.

What's more, as micro-brewed beer became popular in the mid-90s, we figured micro-brewery would go great with our pizza and sports theme. This proved to be a great idea for us and we went on to take part in many beer competitions. One award we're very proud of is the "Champion Small Brewing Company" at the World Beer Cup of 2004.

Pizza Culture

There are a number of scrumptious pizzas on the Oggi's Pizza menu. For a start, you can try our hand-tossed mozzarella cheese pie, or even create yours and pick the toppings you prefer.

In addition, we offer plenty of specialty options. One great example is our Oggi's Special with homemade sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, red onions, green bell peppers, and fresh tomatoes. Or you can also go for our March Madness pie which comes with five kinds of cheese and is brushed with our garlic olive oil sauce.

Another great choice is our Wimbledon pizza which is a vegetarian one made with zucchini, black olives, mushrooms, green bell peppers, and more. Of course, we have other classic combinations as well such as our Margherita, World Series, and Slam Dunk pie. The last two sand for a BBQ chicken and Buffalo chicken pizza respectively.
