Origin Story

Patrizia's Pizza was first opened in 1991 in the Bronx. However, the history of this iconic restaurant doesn't just go back 30 years. It's a much longer story actually, with roots deep in the middle of the last century.

Brothers Giacomo and Gennaro Alaio were born in Naples, Italy. Coming from a long line of restauranteurs, they already knew their way around a pizzeria from an early age. Once they were 8 and 10, respectively, they moved to America to live with their grandparents. However, the love for that true Italian flavor followed them to the US.

Still surrounded by genuine Italian cuisine in their father's restaurant, the brothers always found a way to help out in the pizzeria after school.

During summers, Giacomo would go back to Naples and work in his cousin's pizza shop. That's where he really started to pick up on the secrets of making pizza and authentic Italian food, growing the love and passion for the craft until it birthed what we now know as Patrizia's Pizza.

The brothers opened the doors to the first-ever Patrizia's Pizza together and have since expanded the chain throughout the Tri-State area.

During his time in Naples, Giacomo learned that simple and fresh ingredients make the best food. Since day one, Patrizia's Pizza has nurtured this sentiment.
