This South Pearl pizza gem is beloved by Denverites. Located in a 100-year-old brick cottage with a garden patio, it welcomes pizza lovers in a homey atmosphere. Unsurprisingly it is often included in the “Denver’s Best” lists.

Their pies are baked in a 10.000lb wood-burning oven imported from Italy. Pizza chefs make everything from scratch and by hand – no mechanical processes used. They mix over 50lbs of fresh dough twice a day, using flour for high-temperature wood-fired cooking imported from Naples.

Their artisanal, Naples-style pies are topped with the freshest, seasonal ingredients. Moreover, they use vegetables, free-range poultry, eggs, heirloom pork, grass-fed lamb, and beef from local farms and ranches.

Their “Garden-to-Plate” and “Farm-to-Table” approach ensures flavorful dishes, made from high-quality veggies, meat, and herbs.

4) Pizza Pedal’r

Rooted in mountain bike culture, Pizza Pedal’r makes satisfying Colorado mountain pies (yes, Colorado-style pizza is a thing). This family-owned restaurant serves pies that will satisfy the pizza cravings after a whole day of skiing, mountain biking or just walking around the neighborhood.

Their fresh, made-to-order pies have braided, toothsome edges and a thin yet firm enough center to hold the pile of toppings (typical for the mountain pies). The Yardsale Pizza has ranch dressing instead of tomato sauce, buffalo chicken, bacon, onion, and sweet potato fries.

However, their Granny Gear Pizza is one of their signature pies, made with red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, onion, mushroom, and black olive.

The chefs prepare the dough fresh every day, and bake it in a brick oven, creating unique flavors.

They serve whole pies and pizza by the slice made from scratch. The hand-tossed pies are topped with fresh ingredients and hand-cut veggies. Sexy Pizza is famous for its vegan and gluten-free pies.

Furthermore, they serve PhilanthroPies – a percentage of each pie is donated to one of their community partners. Moreover, a portion of profits is donated to organizations like Freedom Service Dogs, Colorado Youth Symphony, and more.

8) Famous Original J’s Pizza

This pizzeria specializes in New York-Style slices. It serves grandma-style pies, gluten-free and vegan pizzas, but they are most famous for their NY-slices.

The owner of both Famous Original J’s Pizza and Rosenberg’s Bagels Joshua Pollack was born and raised in the NY suburbs. He was captivated by the city’s casual food scene and tried to transfer that vibe into his establishments.

This tiny Five Points restaurant is a window service joint (but you can sit in their outdoor patio area).

The big slices are easily folded, so you can eat them the New York way. They even filter the water to make sure the mineral content matches the New York water, to create an authentic taste.

You can order a cheese pie and customize it by preference with 11 different types of toppings.

9) Patxi’s Pizza

• Signature dish: Mat Cain Deep Dish Pizza

The founders, Bill Freeman and Francisco “Patxi” Azpiroz opened their first pizzeria in Palo Alto, California in 2004. They wanted to create a place with delicious, high-quality deep-dish and thin-crust pizza, and genuine hospitality. Few years and multiple locations later, they stay true to their original idea.

Their pizza chefs make light and crispy Neapolitan pies, made with extra fine “00” flour, available with whole wheat and gluten-free crust, too.

However, we’re here for the best deep dish pizza. Their signature pies with or without center dough, have soft and chewy cornmeal crust. They are topped with homemade tomato sauce and whole milk mozzarella and can be made with whole wheat dough upon request.

Almost every pie can be made vegan, with vegan cheese alternative and delicious vegan toppings. You can even order Vegan deep dish pizza with whole wheat crust, Daiya vegan cheese, fresh spinach, fresh garlic, and red onion.

10) Blue Pan

This pizzeria specializes in serving Detroit-style pies but serves Classic Italian, NY-style, Chicago Cracker Thin, and gluten-free pies too. But it is their Detroit-style pie that got multiple national and international awards.

Blue Pan was first opened in 2015 in the West Highlands neighborhood with an outpost in Congress Park Neighborhood opened in 2017.

Their menu is complemented with salads, appetizers and sandwiches, and a selection of wines and 20 craft beers on draft.

Blue Pan pies are made with fresh dough, prepared in house daily. It is light and airy thanks to the triple rise technique. Their signature Detroit-style pizza is made with brick cheese, cheddar, and mozzarella which create a caramelized crust after baking at very high temperatures.

All pies are topped with their award-winning sauce made with Stanislaus tomatoes and high-quality olive oil.

The Brooklyn Bridge pizza has won 1st place in an international pizza challenge. It is made with their signature pizza sauce, mozzarella, and brick cheese, creamy NY ricotta, cupping pepperoni, hand pinched Italian sausage, fresh chopped garlic, Sicilian oregano, and pecorino Romano cheese.
