Origin Story

Every genuinely Italian pizzeria in America has a story that traces back deep into the 20th century. Ameci Pizza & Pasta is among them. Even though the first Ameci restaurant as we know it today opened up in 1984, two other restaurants preceded it. First, it was the pizzeria of Nick Andrisano's Italian grandparents, opened in New York City. Even though Nick was just a kid back then he was still exposed to the art of making pizza and authentic Italian food. Naturally, he fell in love. Years later, in 1979, armed with the knowledge and passion for all things Italian, Nick moved to the Golden State. There, he opened up two upscale restaurants in LA. He called them Ameci Italian Cuisine. Meanwhile, while Nick learned and operated his restaurants, Angelo Falato left his family in Rome to travel around South America. After years of travel, he found his new home in LA, where he opened his own restaurant. As fate would have it, he also found a new partner - Nick Andrisano. They joined forces in 1984 and opened the very first Ameci Pizza & Pasta restaurant, together. The rest? Well, let's just say that it's still history in the making.
