Origin Story

The story behind this pizzeria takes us back to the middle of the last century in Pallnuro, Italy. Pallnuro is a small village in the south of Italy, known for its friendly people and incredible food. It's also known as the birthplace of Benito Mautone, the founder of Benito's Pizza.

He and his family lived in Pallnuro until Benito was 18, then they moved to the States. Settling in Michigan, the family started to slowly build their American dream. Everyone had a different idea of what that looked like. For Benito, however, it was owning his own restaurant.

His wish came true in 1979. After working in the food industry for a while, Benito decided the time has come for him to prove himself. He opened the doors to Benito's Pizza located in Bellville, Michigan. At first, the pizzeria was a strictly takeout and delivery place. However, after a while, this changed.

Benito's style of cooking, his work ethic, and the overall vibe of his pizzeria brought in more and more customers. This meant that demand was getting higher. Customers who were only visiting Bellville wanted a Benito's Pizza in their home towns. Others wanted a spot closer to them. Seizing the opportunity, Benito opened another and then another and then another spot, ultimately transforming the brand into a true franchise.

Today, Benito's Pizza has locations all over America and is known as one of the most respected pizzerias.
