Origin Story

Big Apple Pizza's story starts in the middle of the 20th century in the boroughs of New York City. The Lino family, originally from Italy, migrated to the States and settled in Brooklyn. With them they took their love for traditional Italian food and a dream to one day share it with their new neighbors. Soon enough that dream would become reality.

The matriarch of the family, Filomena Lino, was an avid cook, and she was amazing at it. Her recipes were loved by family and friends alike. They were so loved, in fact, that the family decided it would be a shame to keep them for themselves!

At the same time, as the family settled into their new American life, they also settled into the city. New York is known to have a unique influence on people. Rich in cultures from all over the world as well as sporting that true American spirit, the city is a melting pot where magical things happen every day.

The Lino family experienced this first-hand and fell in love. They took the parts they liked best, especially the distinctive culinary culture, and combined it with their traditional treasures. The result is more than incredible and we can enjoy it to this day.

Even though they didn't open a restaurant in NYC, they did open one in Florida. Offering an unrepeated combination of true Italian cooking with a NYC twist, Big Apple Pizza quickly became a neighborhood favorite. Open for almost 40 years now, that singular location grew into more than 10 spots in 8 different cities, cementing the restaurant's reputation as one of the best pizza places in Florida.

Pizza Culture

When pizza is in question, Big Apple Pizza does not mess around. Their pie menu features a lot of different styles and flavors, making sure everyone can find something to enjoy.
