Origin Story

The original Joe's Pizza restaurant was opened back in 1975 by Pino "Joe" Pozzuoli. Its location is in Greenwich Village, Manhattan and over the years, it has become known as a “Greenwich Village institution.”

Joe Puzzuoli moved to America from Naples, Italy i.e. the place where pizza was invented. As for the pies that we serve at our pizzeria, they are classic NY-style slices that are very popular with the entire city.

Each pizza we make is with the freshest ingredients available, and we have stayed true to our cooking methods for over 45 years. As a result, our product is incredibly consistent meaning every time you order a crispy slice from us - the amazing flavor will be the same. In other words, we're a pizza place you can rely on 100% of the time.

As a testament to our quality and popularity, we have won several awards such as our pizza being named "The Best of New York" by New York Magazine, and GQ Magazine has even listed it as one of the 25 best pizzas on the planet.

But besides the numerous accolades, we have also made it to important pieces of popular culture. Namely, in the vastly successful movie Spider-Man 2 from 2004, Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker worked as a pizza delivery guy at Joe's Pizza. Though, he did get fired for being late with his orders. Sorry, Spidey!

What's more, Joe's Pizza was also part of one of the most popular video game franchises of all-time - Grand Theft Auto.

As mentioned earlier, our pies have attained legendary status. So, if you're ever in New York, you simply have to try them. On that note, let's take a closer look at our pizza selection.

Of course, first on the list is our classic cheese pie. Beloved by millions of New Yorkers and tourists alike, this NY-style pizza always comes with an irresistible flavor that you will be talking about for years to come. Plus, you can create your version and select all the toppings that you prefer.

In addition, we offer other great options such as our Fresh Mozzarella, Sicilian square cheese, and White cheese pie. These too are customizable, and you can create yours with up to three different toppings. Of course, the list of ingredients features only fresh and high-quality items.

To round things up, you can have our delightful Marinara pie which is vegan and comes without any cheese. Or you can also try our Veggie or Meat Lover pizza. The former comes with broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, onions, and olives. As for the latter, we make it with cheese, meatball, sausage, and pepperoni.
