Origin Story

Johnny’s Pizza owner developed a strong passion for the pizza business since 13, dreaming that he would have his own restaurant one day. Even when he graduated from Ohio State University, he always carried his love and passion for pizza.

While studying and working, he traveled across the US, from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York to North Carolina. And in the meantime, he was slowly perfecting his pizza recipe.

Finally, after years of planning, in 2005, Johnny opened his first pizzeria at the corner of Jenks Road & West Williams St.in Apex, NC.

They began serving the Apex, Cary & Morrisville markets with scrumptious New York-style pizzas, gourmet pizzas, salads, subs, delicious pasta dishes, and their famous chicken wings and desserts.

In fact, Johnny's quickly became a favorite foodie spot for locals! After years of serving happy and loyal customers, in 2013, Johnny and his wife Katie decided to change Johnny’s Pizza menu and look.

They sold the old pizzeria and opened a brand-new restaurant on High House and Davis Drive in the Apex/Cary area.

And in 2016, they opened a new Cary location and another one in Wake Forest. Johnny and Katie continue the mission to bring their perfect NY style pies to neighboring cities.

They offer an extensive menu, excellent service, and atmosphere, and have many loyal and happy customers. Accordingly, Johnny’s Pizza was voted best pizza in the Triangle area.

So today, you can enjoy their specialties at three locations in Apex, Cary, and Wake Forest.

The Menu

Johnny’s Pizza menu is a large one. They serve pizzas, pasta, appetizers, salads, entrées, subs, and desserts.

Their famous New York-style pies are hand-tossed and are cooked until golden brown. Plus, Johnny and Katie use only local, fresh ingredients, house-made dough, and high-quality mozzarella cheese.

Their pies come in many varieties like NY-style gourmet pizza, Sicilian deep dish pizza, Chicago deep dish pie, healthy veggie pizza, gluten-free pies, thin or thick crust pizza, and one of the most popular items on their menu – Johnny’s dessert pizzas.

One of the pizzas you must try at Johnny’s is the Brooklyn White pizza with mozzarella, ricotta, fresh spinach, sausage, fresh garlic, and extra-virgin olive oil. Or their Buffalo chicken pizza with delicious fried chicken, or go for something more satisfying with the Supreme pizza.
